The objective of this work is to present the relevance of Emotional Intelligence at the school extend, helping students and teachers to make a better society and live in harmony concerning both intra and interpersonal relationships. It is also the objective of this paper to know about the development of emotional intelligence, and its concepts, history, engagement with education and the evolutions of the human being, according to the view and opinion of some authors. The researched sources were books by Daniel Goleman, Haward Gardner, Celso Antunes and others, who support the emotional intelligence practice at school. It is a research study developed through a brief analysis of the current situation of the Brazilian and world society and through which it was found that human relationships are deteriorated. People are not able to deal with each other in a civilized way, understand very little of their own emotional issues and how to handle that, leading to disastrous situations. Emotional intelligence has great relevance to the teaching staff and students, once learning takes place through intra and interpersonal relations and it is extremely necessary to know how to understand the needs of those who are around us, as well as understand our own needs when it comes to emotional and conceptual learning
