The article aims to analyze aspects inherent to the use of atypical procedural business (general clause), provided for in art. 190 of the Code of Civil Procedure, when applied within the scope of contracts governed by Law n. 8.2345/91. Thus, for the development of the present, we sought, initially, to situate the general aspects of the procedural business, with the main definitions that permeate its applicability and the minimum requirements that grant legal validity to the contracting parties' stipulations. Further on, it began to outline some of the main procedural problems faced in leasing actions and how atypical businesses can contribute to mitigating them. Furthermore, factors related to the validity control of atypical business by the judge, from the perspective of procedural and special legislation, in addition to the autonomy granted to stipulators by the general clause and as interpreted by various courts in the country. The topic is relevant since the atypical procedural business is seen as an important instrument capable of providing a quicker and more effective solution to legal disputes, in addition to implicitly bringing the parties closer to the guiding principles of the current Code of Civil Procedure. For the analysis of aspects related to the theme, the deductive method was adopted, based mainly on bibliographical and jurisprudential research
