The processes of Social Inclusion, Education and Health: a qualitative analysis of the elderly deaf people of the Distrito Federal

Resumo: This research arises from the accompaniment of this growing number of deaf people who are now in this phase of life and are facing various difficulties regarding access to these legal institutions. The research consisted of a qualitative and descriptive study, through a semistructured interview, filmed in Libras and transcribed into Portuguese. For the content analysis, the MAXQDA software was used, based on the Bardin (2011) content analysis system. The results showed that the majority of society does not know Libras and is not prepared for this type of communication. It is hoped that the result of this research will present a singular look at the problems experienced by the elderly deaf people, and that it will serve as a support for institutions aimed at serving this portion of society.

La investigación consistió en un estudio cualitativo, descriptivo, a través de entrevista semiestructurada, filmado en Libras y transcrito para el portugués. Para el análisis de contenido se utilizó el software MAXQDA, basado en el sistema de análisis de contenido de Bardin (2011). Los resultados demostraron que la sociedad no conoce a Libras y no está preparada para ese tipo de comunicación. Se espera que esta investigación posibilite una mirada singular sobre los problemas vivenciados por los sordos ancianos y sirva de apoyo para instituciones orientadas a la atención de esa parcela de la sociedad. Esta pesquisa surge do acompanhamento de um número crescente de surdos que se encontram hoje na fase da vida denominada idosa e passam por diversas dificuldades quanto ao acesso a instituições de serviços e atendimento de direito. A pesquisa consistiu em um estudo qualitativo e descritivo, por meio de entrevista semiestruturada, filmada em Libras e transcrita para o português. Para a análise de conteúdo foi utilizado o software MAXQDA, baseado no sistema de análise de conteúdo de Bardin (2011). Os resultados demonstraram que a sociedade não conhece a Libras e não está preparada para esse tipo de comunicação. Espera-se que esta pesquisa possibilite um olhar singular sobre os problemas vivenciados pelos surdos idosos e sirva de apoio para instituições voltadas ao atendimento dessa parcela da sociedade.
