Resumo: This study aimed to describe the profile of the elderly in the labor market according to sociodemographic characteristics through the participation rates calculation. The results indicated that the majority of the elderly in the labor market are men, residents in rural areas, agricultural workers, with high schooling, labor income greater than 5 minimum wages, who are heads of the house and are in union.

Los resultados indicaron que la mayoría de las personas mayores en el mercado laboral son hombres, residentes rurales, trabajadores agrícolas, con educación superior, con ingresos laborales superiores a cinco salarios mínimos, que son jefes de hogar y están en unión.Este estudo teve como objetivo descrever o perfil dos idosos inseridos no mercado de trabalho, segundo características sociodemográficas, por meio do cálculo de taxas de participação.
