Resumo: This paper aims to reflect on the formation of archivists in Brazil as a contribution to the demarcation of their professional identity. Supported by curriculum theories, it intends to collaborate with current curricular debates. It investigates the creation of courses between the years 1910 and 1970 and concludes that the study of their origins shows the relationship between social context and curriculum, demarcating the archivists' professional identity.
