Twenty years of the Brazilian Society of History of Education: eyes on the future

Resumo: This text aimed to reflect on the twenty years of the SBHE interweaving its creation (1999) with the paths taken by previous generations for the formation of the field of History of Education in Brazil. It shows its origins in Education and discusses its belonging both to this field and to History. Theoretical issues are indicated on its production and it can be concluded that this field crossed the twentieth century in ascending line culminating with the creation of the SBHE in 1999 arriving consolidated to the 21st century. Regarding the challenges, it points out the diverse context in which the field should continue to act in view of the demand for internationalization and the apprehensions about the reduction of the History of Education in the teacher training curriculum.

Muestra sus orígenes en la Educación y discute su pertenencia tanto en ese campo como en el de la Historia. Destaca cuestiones teóricas relativas a su producción y concluye que ese campo atravesó el siglo XX en línea ascendente culminando con la creación de la SBHE en 1999 y llegando, al final, consolidado. Como desafíos, indica el contexto diverso en el cual el campo deberá seguir actuando teniendo en vista la demanda por internacionalización y las preocupaciones en cuanto a la reducción de la Historia de la Educación en el currículo de formación de profesores.Este texto tem como objetivo a reflexão sobre os vinte anos da SBHE entrelaçando a sua criação (1999) com os caminhos percorridos pelas gerações que nos antecederam para a formação do campo da História da Educação no Brasil. Para escrevê-lo, fiz uso de fontes escritas e também de minha própria experiência. Inicialmente mostro as suas origens na Educação e discuto a sua relação com esse campo e com o da História. Em seguida, destaco questões teóricas relativas à sua produção e concluo que esse campo atravessou o século XX em linha ascendente culminando com a criação da SBHE em 1999.
