Resumo: The historical centers reflect the urban heritage of a city filled with places characterized by those who dwell or dwelt. It is the interpretation that society gives to a place that transforms it in a unique and unable landscape to be repeated anywhere in the world. With a brief analysis and understanding of the evolution of the historic centers aims to bring together foundations for a study on the current and future society, which has been identified with different values and lifestyles of previously designated as traditional. This research uses a case study of Oporto, a bourgeois city, located in the north of Portugal, in the periphery of Europe, carried by people known as workers, since its inception, this gives characteristics to the buildings currently considered as cultural heritage urban. There are several urban problems of today, whose complexity requires intensive study, however, it is possible to identify in a city like Porto the problem of degradation of the urban heritage, which has deteriorated the image of a city very characteristic. This issue has been presented as a priority for the city, thus contributing to rehabilitation actions and reconstruction of buildings, blocks and degraded public spaces. This requires research on the experiences of the contemporary individual, in order to frame a space markedly history with the housing needs currently required by the city's inhabitants. Thus, not only sets up a contextualization that allows us to understand the phenomenon of evolution of bourgeois domestic space, as well as a study of housing trends of the individual who inhabits the current city:"Its inhabitant appears to be an individual who lives mostly alone, which groups may be in various formats family that communicates remotely with the networks to which it belongs, who works at home but requires public facilities to meet with each other, seeking his identity through contact with the information. What has to say on this architecture framework (...)? According to what criteria will be formulated new proposals for the design of this space?
