This affords surface-active ionic liquids whose liver-stage antiplasmodial activity is either retained or slightly enhanced, while revealing blood-stage antiplasmodial activity at least one order of magnitude higher than that of the parent compound. These findings open new perspectives towards the cost-effective recycling of classical drugs that are either shelved or in decline, and which is not limited to antimalarial agents.Instituto de Higiene e Medicina Tropical (IHMT)Global Health and Tropical Medicine (GHTM)Vector borne diseases and pathogens (VBD)RUNSilva, Ana TeresaOliveira, Isabel S.Gomes, JoanaAguiar, LuísaFontinha, DianaDuarte, DeniseNogueira, FátimaPrudêncio, MiguelMarques, Eduardo F.Teixeira, CátiaFerraz, RicardoGomes, Paula2023-02-13T22:17:57Z2022-032022-03-01T00:00:00Zinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersioninfo:eu-repo/semantics/article6application/pdfhttp://hdl.handle.net/10362/149142eng1860-7179PURE: 36004524https://doi.org/10.1002/cmdc.202100650info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessreponame:Repositório Científico de Acesso Aberto de Portugal (Repositórios Cientìficos)instname:Agência para a Sociedade do Conhecimento (UMIC) - FCT - Sociedade da Informaçãoinstacron:RCAAP2024-05-22T18:09:08Zoai:run.unl.pt:10362/149142Portal AgregadorONGhttps://www.rcaap.pt/oai/openairemluisa.alvim@gmail.comopendoar:71602024-05-22T18:09:08Repositório Científico de Acesso Aberto de Portugal (Repositórios Cientìficos) - Agência para a Sociedade do Conhecimento (UMIC) - FCT - Sociedade da Informaçãofalse
