Resumo: This paper is part of a wider research on lntergenerational Education and emphasizes the role of curricular mediators for the attitudinal change of students regarding old people and their societal role. It is possible to transform and develop new mental representations of old age by promoting positive attitudes and generating a significant and inclusive socioeducational culture. ln this context, textbooks as educational mediators are (should be) privileged carriers of learning and are central to promote a community that is genuinely committed to the development of a responsible and inclusive citizenship.

Transformar e construir novas representações mentais é possível, basta para isso fomentar atitudes positivas e semear uma cultura socioeducativa inclusiva e significativa.
