Resumo: | The presente essay on de Ia Mare´s "Song of the Mad Prince" is a criticai reading in the field of nonsense literature as it reflects inevitable links with children literature and above ali tends to question the actual system of cânon literature and traditional poetics. A thourough analysis of de Ia Mare´s põem as an apparently nonsensical construction reveals its careful lyrical arrangement of deconstructed fragments of Shakespeare´s Hamlet, só as to produce an ex-quisite effect of suspension and indefinition in the most of our accepted mean-ings of sense and nonsense. |
