For a multimodal mapping of the concept of translanguaging based on open data

Resumo: Due to increasing mobility and the promotion of internationalization, classrooms are becoming more and more multilingual and multicultural learning spaces. In this context, translanguaging, an interdisciplinary concept which recognizes and embraces the bi/multilingualism of learners, contributes to the development of competences in the mother tongue and the target language(s) through the strategic activation of the entire linguistic repertoire. Translanguaging is an extremely productive pedagogical practice as it can be applied in language classes but also in other classes that rely on a foreign language for access to knowledge. In order to map the network of authors, related concepts, fields of research, and definitions that make up the universe of translanguaging, we propose a methodology for the promotion of information literacy that links social listening to the research and use of academic information through easy-to-use digital tools. With this methodology, it is intended that teachers acquire, refresh and/or deepen, in an autonomous and creative way, their knowledge about innovative approaches and strategies for language teaching, in the framework of lifelong learning.

Neste contexto, o translinguismo, conceito interdisciplinar que reconhece e abraça o bi/plurilinguismo dos aprendentes, contribui para o desenvolvimento das competências em língua materna e na(s) língua(s) alvo através da ativação estratégica do repertório linguístico em toda a sua plenitude. O translinguismo assume-se como uma prática pedagógica extremamente produtiva dado que pode ser aplicada em aulas de língua mas também noutras disciplinas que usam uma língua estrangeira para dar acesso ao conhecimento. Para mapear a rede de autores, conceitos relacionados, campos de pesquisa e definições que compõem o universo do translinguismo, é nosso objetivo propor uma metodologia de promoção da literacia da informação que una a escuta social à pesquisa e uso da informação científica através de ferramentas digitais de fácil utilização.
