Students’ perception of interdisciplinary teaching practices in environmental education perspective with approaches to local problems

Resumo: This quantitative and qualitative research aimed to analyze, the students` perception of social and environmental problems that made part of their reality and how teaching practices favored these issues in their approaches in order to contribute to the construction of an Environmental Education project. Thus, students from the ninth grade of elementary public school in the Federal District were invited to answer an electronic questionnaire, and the results showed that, for a significant portion of the students, there were no environmental problems around their living area, on the other hand, some other students observed the existence of some problems which were not debated in class by their teachers. Although some data point to teachers collective practice, they did not show either evidence of an interdisciplinary approach, neither a critical perspective of Environmental Education.

Although some data point to teachers collective practice, they did not show either evidence of an interdisciplinary approach, neither a critical perspective of Environmental Education.Este estudio de investigación cuantitativa y cualitativa tiene como obcjetivo analizar, desde la percepcion de los estudiantes, sobre los problemas sociales y ambientales que formavan parte de su realidad. y cómo las prácticas de enseñanza favorecian estos temas en sus enfoquescon el fin de contribuir a la construcción de un proyecto de educación ambiental. Por lo tanto, se invitó a estudiantes de noveno grado de la escuela primaria en una escuela pública en el Distrito Federal para responder a un cuestionario electrónico. Los resultados muestran que una gran parte de los estudiantes no encuentran problemas ambientales donde viven, mientras tanto para otros que estan mas alerta perciben la existencia de algunos problemas, éstos no se discuten en clase de parte de sus profesores, aunque hay indicios de un posible enfoque. Sin embargo algunos datos que indican que la práctica de los maestros colectivos no muestran el enfoque interdisciplinar con casos una perspectiva crítica de la Educación Ambiental.A presente pesquisa de caráter quanti-qualitativo se prestou a analisar, a partir das apreensões dos alunos, os problemas socioambientais que faziam parte de sua realidade e como as práticas docentes privilegiavam esses assuntos em suas abordagens, de modo a contribuir para a construção de um projeto de Educação Ambiental. Dessa forma, alunos do nono ano do Ensino Fundamental de uma escola pública do Distrito Federal foram convidados a responder um questionário eletrônico, cujos resultados revelam que, para uma parcela significativa de alunos, não há problemas ambientais onde moram, enquanto outros alunos percebem a existência de alguns problemas. Estes problemas não são discutidos em sala de aula por seus professores, embora haja indícios de uma possível abordagem.
