Resumo: | Despite the recognition ofthecross-domain consequencesof family-work conflict(FWC), prior research lacks toexplain how this conflict affects work-related behaviors. The present study examinesthe mediationroleof work engagement and rumination on the relationship between FWCand innovative work behaviors(IWB). Based on theWork-Home Resources Model(WH-R), we arguethat FWCimpairs employees’ IWBdue to theconsumption ofvaluable personal resources, thus leaving individuals with insufficient resources to invest in their workroles. Using a time-lagged panel designwitha sample of 306 employees, ourresults demonstratethat work engagementmediates the negative effect of FWC onIWB. Limitations, implications for practice and future research are discussed. |
