Tem como objetivo apresentar o trabalho desenvolvido ao longo do processo de implementação do Projeto de Intervenção, relacionado a promoção e desenvolvimento do conhecimento sociocultural e da consciência intercultural através de distintos recursos pedagógico-didáticos. Através do projeto, que seguiu uma linha metodológica de investigação-ação, pretendi implementar e experimentar abordagens pedagógicas que têm vindo a ser desenvolvidas nos últimos quarenta anos no âmbito dos processos de ensino e aprendizagem de línguas estrangeiras e que têm influenciado as políticas e as práticas educativas tanto a nível nacional como internacional. Deste modo, é necessário ter presente a dimensão política da educação, pois esta acaba por influenciar o currículo em geral e a própria ação do professor, dentro da sala de aula, em particular. A introdução de conceitos como os da competência sociocultural e intercultural em interligação com o ensino e aprendizagem de línguas estrangeiras é algo imprescindível à construção de sociedades e culturas cada vez mais multifacetadas e preparadas para lidar com a diversidade linguística e cultural. Consciencializar os alunos, futuros cidadãos do amanhã, em relação às diferenças e semelhanças culturais de forma a prepará-los para interagir com falantes de outras línguas ajudará a destruir barreiras, facilitando o enriquecimento mútuo e o desenvolvimento da intercompreensão. Na fase inicial do projeto, procedeu-se à caracterização dos contextos, assim como ao enquadramento teórico do tema. Na fase de implementação, foram criados materiais pedagógico-didáticos que contemplaram, nos temas abordados, determinadas estratégias com o objetivo de contribuir para desenvolvimento do conhecimento sociocultural e, ao mesmo tempo, contribuir para a reflexão sobre as semelhanças e diferenças entre a cultura de origem dos alunos e a cultura da língua que estavam a aprender. Por último, foi feita a avaliação do projeto assente nos dados que foram sendo recolhidos ao longo de toda a intervenção e que, a partir da análise realizada, permitiram concluir que as atividades realizadas favoreceram a concretização dos objetivos propostos.This report falls within the scope of the training period of the Master degree in English and Spanish Teaching in the 3rd Cycle of Basic and Secondary Education. It aims at presenting the work developed throughout the implementation process of the intervention project related to the promotion and development of the sociocultural knowledge and of the intercultural awareness through different pedagogical-didactic resources. Through the project, which followed a method of action-research, I intended to implement and experiment pedagogical approaches that have been evolving in the last forty years regarding the processes of teaching and learning foreign languages and that have been influencing the policies and educational practices at both national and international levels. This way, it is necessary to bear in mind the political dimension of education as it ends up influencing the curriculum in general and the very action of the teacher, within the classroom, in particular. The introduction of concepts such as sociocultural and intercultural competences in interconnection with the teaching and learning of foreign languages is something that is essential for building societies and cultures that will, increasingly, become more multifaceted and prepared to deal with linguistic and cultural diversity. To raise the students’ awareness, citizens of tomorrow, in relation to cultural differences and similarities in order to prepare them to interact with speakers of other languages, will help break down barriers, facilitating mutual enrichment and the development of intercomprehension. In the first stage of the project, the intervention contexts were characterized and the theoretical framework of the theme was carried out. During the implementation stage, pedagogical-didactic materials were created. They included, according to the themes/contents, certain strategies with the objective of contributing to the development of sociocultural knowledge and, at the same time, contribute to the reflection on the similarities and differences between the students’ culture of origin and the culture of the language they were learning.
