Resumo: This essay looks at the poetry book The Weight of Oranges of Anne Michaels, one of most relevant figures of actual Canadian literature. This research develops a close reading of two poems (“Memoriam” and “Words for the Body”) of The Weight of Oranges, which is her first book. The essay is especially focused in the form, the techniques used in the poems and the structure of her poetry.
