Assim, com este estudo procura-se compreender o papel que as tarefas investigativas assumem na aprendizagem da matemática, mais especificamente no tema Funções do 10.º ano de escolaridade, operacionalizando-se o mesmo através das três seguintes questões de investigação: (1) Tendo por referência os processos matemáticos e as fases do trabalho investigativo, que aspetos se salientam no processo de resolução de tarefas investigativas no tema Funções do 10º ano?; (2) Que dificuldades sentem os alunos na realização deste tipo de tarefas?; (3) Quais as perceções dos alunos sobre a experiência de exploração das tarefas de investigação? Tendo em vista dar resposta a estas questões, foram recolhidos dados, essencialmente através da análise das produções dos alunos e de dois questionários, um aplicado antes e outro após a experiência de ensino. Além disso, foram analisados outros documentos importantes como, por exemplo, o projeto educativo da escola e gravadas as aulas da intervenção de ensino em que foram exploradas as tarefas de natureza investigativa. Com os dados obtidos foi possível constatar que os alunos revelaram dificuldades em entender alguns dos processos inerentes à atividade investigativa. Além disso, tendiam a valorizar um modelo de ensino tradicional, onde se limitam a ouvir os ensinamentos que lhes são transmitidos e a aplicá-los na resolução de tarefas rotineiras. Esta visão do ensino e aprendizagem da matemática, aliada à falta de hábitos de trabalho dos alunos em tarefas mais desafiantes, que apelam a níveis cognitivos mais elevados, como é o caso das tarefas investigativas, influenciou significativamente o modo como estes alunos se envolveram nas mesmas. De facto, a atividade matemática desenvolvida pelos alunos evidenciou poucas características específicas daquilo que se entende ser uma verdadeira atividade investigativa.Investigation tasks allow students a deeper understanding of mathematics and its nature, so its implementation in the classroom is the best way to create a dynamic atmosphere that bring new challenges for students and their own teachers. As such, this study aims to analyze the role that investigation tasks assume in math learning, more precisely in the subject of Functions learned in the 10th grade, being operationalized through the following research questions: (1) Tasking as a reference the mathematical processes and the phases of investigative work, which aspects stand out in the resolution process of investigation tasks in the subject of Functions learned in 10th grade? (2) What difficulties the students face when performing such tasks? (3) What is the perception of the students on the exploration experience provided by the investigation tasks? In order to answer to these questions, data has been collected essentially through the analysis of students' resolutions and through the conducting of two questionnaires, one applied before the teaching experiment, and the other applied after. Furthermore, important documents have been analyzed such as the school's educative project and all of the classes where tasks of this nature were given have been recorded. With the obtained data, it was possible to conclude that the students revealed difficulty in understanding some of the processes inherent to investigation tasks. Moreover, they revealed a tendency to value a traditional educational model where they are limited to listening to the teachings that are transmitted to them and applying them on routine tasks. This vision, along with a lack of working habits in more challenging tasks that call on higher cognitive levels such as investigation tasks, has significantly influenced the involvement of students.
