Resumo: | Many investigations coincide in affirming that the teaching of Chemistry in the different educational areas does not manage to arouse the expected interest in the students. This situation may be due to the existence of disciplinary curricula far from the reality of today’s society and the use of traditional teaching methodologies. In recent years, Information and Communication Technologies are being widely used for the preparation of teaching materials, and there are numerous studies that coincide in demonstrating how they facilitate teaching and learning processes in their different stages. As an example of the contribution of technology to STS education in certain social contexts, this work explains the development of a application that addresses the issue of nomenclature of organic compounds and that is intended for students of High Education and Universities who study Organic Chemistry. This application, which has been validated by the opinion of experts in the subject, can be installed on any cell phone with an Android operating system and contains theoretical concepts, solved practical exercises and self-evaluations so that they can be used by the students who take this subject in the moment in which it considers it necessary. |

Esta situación puede deberse a la existencia de currículos disciplinares alejados de la realidad de la sociedad actual y a la utilización de metodologías de enseñanza tradicionales. En los últimos años, las Tecnologías de la Información y la Comunicación están siendo muy utilizadas para la elaboración de materiales didácticos, y son numerosos los estudios que coinciden en demostrar cómo las mismas facilitan los procesos de enseñanza y de aprendizaje en sus diferentes etapas. Como un ejemplo del aporte de la tecnología a la educación CTS en determinados contextos sociales, el presente trabajo explica el desarrollo de una aplicación informática que aborda el tema de la nomenclatura de los compuestos orgánicos y que está destinada a estudiantes de Educación Media y Superior que cursen Química Orgánica. Dicha aplicación, que ha sido validada mediante la opinión de personas expertas en la temática, puede instalarse en cualquier teléfono celular con sistema operativo Android y contiene conceptos teóricos, ejercicios prácticos resueltos y autoevaluaciones para que puedan ser utilizadas por el estudiantado que cursa dicha asignatura en el momento en que lo considere necesario.Muitas pesquisas coincidem em afirmar que o ensino da Química nos diferentes campos da educação não consegue despertar o interesse esperado pelos alunos. Essa situação pode dever- se à existência de currículos disciplinares distantes da realidade da sociedade atual e ao uso de metodologias tradicionais de ensino. Nos últimos anos, as Tecnologias de Informação e Comunicação estão sendo amplamente utilizadas para a preparação de materiais de ensino, e existem inúmeros estudos que coincidem em demonstrar como eles colaboram positivamente nos processos de ensino e aprendizagem em suas diferentes etapas. Como exemplo da contribuição da tecnologia para a educação em CTS em determinados contextos sociais, este trabalho explica o desenvolvimento de um aplicativo para os telefones celulares que aborda a questão da nomenclatura de compostos orgânicos e que é destinado a estudantes do ensino médio e Superior que estuda Química Orgânica.
