Resumo: The study aimed to analyze the knowledge and perceptions of residents, workers and students of Environmental Protect Area (EPA) Floresta Manaós, about the archaeological heritage identified in its perimeter, that is, considering the occupation process of the neighborhoods that make it up since the installation of the Manaus Industrial Pole. The Sítio Japiim is located in the southern portion of the Conservation Unit, and has been following the same logic of de-characterization of other sites identified in the capital of Amazonas. The methodology used was qualitative and quantitative analysis by bibliographic survey, and semi-structured interviews with two different groups. In general, the study demonstrated the population’s lack of knowledge about the local historical heritage, which extended to the environmental services provided by the remaining ecosystems in the area.

El O Sítio Japiim está ubicado en la parte sur de la Unidad de Conservación y ha seguido la misma lógica de caracterización errónea de otros sitios identificados en la capital de Amazonas. La metodología que se utilizó fue el análisis cualitativo y cuantitativo mediante encuesta bibliográfica y entrevistas semiestructuradas con dos grupos diferentes. Este estudio demostró identificó la población tiene poco conocimiento sobre el patrimonio histórico local, lo que también se extiende a los servicios ambientales que brindan los demás ecosistemas remanentes de la zona.O estudo objetivou analisar os conhecimentos e percepções de moradores, trabalhadores e estudantes da Área de Proteção Ambiental (APA) Floresta Manaós acerca do patrimônio arqueológico identificado em seu perímetro, considerando o processo de ocupação dos bairros que a compõem desde a instalação do Polo Industrial de Manaus. O Sítio Japiim é localizado na porção sul da Unidade de Conservação e vem seguindo a mesma lógica de descaracterização de outros sítios identificados na capital do Amazonas. A metodologia utilizada foi de análise quali-quantitativa por meio de levantamento bibliográfico e entrevistas semiestruturadas com dois grupos distintos.
