Resumo: Introduction: Nursing care management is mainly composed of an ethical and integral part, focused firstly on the responsibility assumed by the professional associated with human warmth and secondly directed to carrying out administrative activities such as directing financial resources, management of hours and coordination with other professionals and assistance centers to achieve the objectives of each health establishment. Objective: Identify the knowledge of care management in the nursing staff. Methodology: A cross-sectional qualitative-quantitative research was carried out where data was collected on various aspects of care management through the application of a survey of 100 nursing professionals who work in different hospital institutions in the city of Quito. Results: The results showed a deficiency in knowledge about the care management model, especially in older staff with longer service. Conclusions: It is essential that the nursing staff have knowledge of care management, since they will help in their work performance in each health area to provide optimal care and consider the individual needs of each patient, for which it is necessary that all procedures are carried out with responsibility, commitment, motivation, organization and supported by scientific evidence based on care management.

Objetivo: Identificar los conocimientos de la gestión del cuidado en el personal de enfermería. Metodología: Se realizó una investigación cuali-cuantativa trasversal, donde se recolectaron datos acerca de varios aspectos de la gestión del cuidado mediante la aplicación de una encuesta en 100 profesionales de enfermería que laboran en distintas instituciones hospitalarias de la cuidad de Quito. Resultados:  Los resultados arrojaron que un 56% del personal encuestado presenta una deficiencia en los conocimientos sobre el modelo de gestión del cuidado sobre todo en el personal con mayor edad y tiempo de servicio. Conclusiones: Es primordial que el personal de enfermería posea conocimientos de gestión del cuidado, puesto que ayudaran en su desempeño laboral en cada área de salud para que proporcione los cuidados óptimos y tome en cuenta las necesidades individuales de cada paciente, por lo cual es necesario que todos los procedimientos sean realizados con responsabilidad, compromiso, motivación, organización y sustentados con evidencia científica en base a la gestión del cuidado. Por lo que resulta fundamental la capacitación continua del personal de mayor tiempo de servicio.Introdução: A gestão do cuidado de enfermagem é composta principalmente por uma parte ética e integral, voltada primeiramente para a responsabilidade assumida pelo profissional associada ao calor humano e em segundo lugar voltada para a realização de atividades administrativas como direcionamento de recursos financeiros, gestão de horas e coordenação com outros profissionais e centros assistenciais para atingir os objetivos de cada estabelecimento de saúde. Objetivo: Identificar o conhecimento da gestão do cuidado na equipe de enfermagem. Metodologia: Realizou-se uma pesquisa qualitativa-quantitativa transversal, onde foram coletados dados sobre vários aspectos da gestão do cuidado por meio da aplicação de uma pesquisa com 100 profissionais de enfermagem que atuam em diferentes instituições hospitalares da cidade de Quito. Resultados: Os resultados mostraram que 56% do pessoal pesquisado apresenta deficiência no conhecimento sobre o modelo de gestão do cuidado, principalmente no pessoal com maior idade e tempo de serviço. Conclusões: É fundamental que a equipe de enfermagem tenha conhecimento da gestão do cuidado, pois auxiliará no desempenho de seu trabalho em cada área da saúde para prestar um cuidado ideal e levar em consideração as necessidades individuais de cada paciente, para o qual é necessário que todos os procedimentos são realizados com responsabilidade, comprometimento, motivação, organização e respaldados em evidências científicas baseadas na gestão do cuidado.
