Resumo: Microbiology is a branch of biology that studies the microscopic universe from microorganisms to the way they work. Microbiology is a complex science for teaching without practicing. Therefore, the aim of this study is to provide the coexistence of practical microbiology activities for high school students from the public school in Fronteiras, Piauí, Brazil. To carry out this work, three practical activities were performed at low cost and adapted to the students' reality, in addition to a whole theoretical explanation to link theory and practice. Two questionnaires were applied, one before and one after the activities, to raise students' prior knowledge about microorganisms and the influence of practices on them. The results indicated that the students had little knowledge about basic microbiology and had previously had access to negative information about microorganisms. After carrying out the activities, it was possible to observe a positive change in this thinking. Most of the data compiled in the tests proves that most students understood more about microbes in the end and gained basic knowledge about microbiology.
