Cinema and biology: the use of movies in the teaching of invertebrates

Resumo: The present study aimed to propose a didactic sequence using entertainment films as an alternative didactic resource for the teaching of Zoology, particularly for the group of Invertebrates. This proposal includes part of the activities carried out by the Uirapuru-PIBID-Capes Project at IFAM, in partnership with public schools in Manaus. The sequence was developed in four moments: 1) brief diagnosis of the students' previous knowledge about the subject and the dialogical expositive class; 2) showing the selected films, with instructions for the students on the elements that should be observed in the films; 3) discussion in groups, directed from aspects that should be observed in the film; 4) final evaluation of the activity performed. The teaching proposal was well received by the students participating in the research, who reported having their interest aroused and learning facilitated from the use of the films.

Esta propuesta forma parte de las actividades que desarrolla el Proyecto Uirapuru-PIBID-Capes en IFAM, en alianza con escuelas públicas de Manaus. La secuencia se desarrolló en cuatro momentos: 1) un breve diagnóstico del conocimiento previo de los estudiantes sobre el tema y la conferencia dialogada; 2) exhibición de las películas seleccionadas, con instrucciones para los estudiantes sobre los elementos que deben observarse en las películas; 3) discusión en grupo, basada en aspectos que deben observarse en la película; 4) valoración final de la actividad realizada. La propuesta didáctica fue bien recibida por los estudiantes participantes en la investigación, quienes informaron haber despertado su interés y facilitado el aprendizaje a través del uso de películas.Este estudo tem como objetivo propor a utilização de filmes de entretenimento como um recurso didático alternativo para o ensino de Zoologia, particularmente do grupo dos Invertebrados. Tal proposta compreende parte das atividades realizadas pelo Projeto Uirapuru-PIBID-Capes no IFAM, em parceria com escolas públicas de Manaus. A atividade foi desenvolvida em três momentos: 1º) observação e familiarização com a dinâmica da escola; 2º) aula expositiva dialogada sobre as caraterísticas gerais dos invertebrados; 3º) aplicação da atividade avaliativa e do questionário para averiguar as impressões dos alunos sobre a atividade. A proposta de ensino foi bem recebida pelos alunos participantes da pesquisa, os quais relataram terem seu interesse despertado e aprendizagem facilitada a partir da utilização dos filmes.   PALAVRAS-CHAVE: Filme.
