Resumo: | The article addresses university extension as a process in the context of the University Of Pinar del Río Cuba. The objective was aimed at socializing a reflective - critical approach about the formative nature of university extension based on four pedagogical conceptions, of which their fundamental axes are presented. The study was carried out from the qualitative approach and as fundamental methods were the dialectical-materialist as theoretical, practical and methodological support of the investigation, as well as theoretical as the historical-logical in correspondence with each one of the conceptions directed to the formation for the promotion of reading, the training of promoters of healthy lifestyles, training for the student's extension work and the management of extension in the Teaching Department. The conclusions that are presented, are of a theoretical nature and are generalizable to university and territorial contexts in a general way, they allowed to corroborate the formative nature of the process, given in the transversality, the professionalization, the integral formation, the Teaching Department, as a work cell extensionist and the relations of hierarchy, coordination, subordination between the different university actors. |

El objetivo estuvo dirigido a su socializar un enfoque reflexivo – crítico acerca del carácter formativo de la extensión universitaria fundamentado en cuatro concepciones pedagógicas, de las que se presentan sus ejes fundamentales. El estudio se realizó desde el enfoque cualitativo y como métodos fundamentales estuvieron el dialéctico- materialista como soporte teórico, práctico y metodológico de la investigación, así como teóricos como el histórico–lógico en correspondencia con cada una de las concepciones dirigidas a la formación para la promoción de lectura, la formación de promotores de estilos de vida saludables, la formación para la labor extensionista del estudiante y la gestión de la extensión en el Departamento Docente. Las conclusiones que se presentan, son de tipo teórico y resultan generalizables a contextos universitarios y territoriales de manera general, permitieron corroborar el carácter formativo del proceso, dado en la transversalidad, la profesionalización, la formación integral, el Departamento docente, como célula de trabajo extensionista y las relaciones de jerarquización, coordinación, subordinación entre los diferentes actores universitarios. O artigo aborda a extensão universitária como processo de formação no contexto da Universidade de Pinar del Río, Cuba. O objetivo foi socializar uma abordagem reflexiva-crítica sobre o caráter formativo da extensão universitária a partir de quatro concepções pedagógicas, das quais são apresentados seus eixos fundamentais. O estudo foi realizado a partir da abordagem qualitativa e como métodos fundamentais foram o materialista dialético como suporte teórico, prático e metodológico da investigação, assim como o teórico e o histórico-lógico em correspondência com cada uma das concepções voltadas para a formação. para a promoção da leitura, a formação de promotores de estilos de vida saudáveis, a formação para o trabalho de extensão do aluno e a gestão da extensão no Departamento de Ensino. As conclusões que se apresentam, são de natureza teórica e generalizáveis a contextos universitários e territoriais de uma forma geral, permitiram corroborar a natureza formativa do processo, dada na transversalidade, na profissionalização, na formação integral, no Departamento de Docência, como extensionista de célula de trabalho e as relações de hierarquia, coordenação, subordinação entre os diferentes atores universitários.
