CHILDHOOD IN COMMUNICATION RESEARCHES: theses and dissertations from 1970 to 2020 IN BRAZIL

Resumo: This article presents results of the research Communication and Childhood, which aimed to identify, in the scientific academic field of Communication, the production of knowledge about childhood. We present a general summary of the collection of Theses and Dissertations defended in Brazil from 1970 to 2020, a period that marks 50 years of the history of Post-Graduate Programs in the area since the year of its creation. Based on quantitative and qualitative data, the methodology involved collection in repositories, use of the Excel program, NVIVO software, and structuring of categories created from the perspective of Sociology of Childhood. Among the main highlights, we evidenced childhood as an object of research little explored in the field and the need to structure theories and methodologies to qualify future research.

Presentamos un resumen general del acervo de Tesis y Disertaciones defendidas en Brasil desde 1970 hasta 2020, período que marca 50 años de historia de los Programas de Posgrado en el área desde el año de su creación. A partir de datos cuantitativos y cualitativos, la metodología involucró recolección en repositorios, uso del programa Excel, software NVIVO y estructuración de categorías creadas desde la perspectiva de la Sociología de la Infancia. Entre los principales destaques, destacamos la infancia como objeto de investigación poco explorado en el campo y la necesidad de estructurar teorías y metodologías para calificar futuras investigaciones.Este artigo apresenta resultados da pesquisa Comunicação e Infância, que objetivou identificar, no campo acadêmico científico da Comunicação, a produção de conhecimento sobre a infância. Apresentamos síntese geral da coleta das Teses e Dissertações defendidas no Brasil de 1970 a 2020, período que marca 50 anos de história dos Programas de Pós-Graduação na área desde o ano de sua criação. Embasada em dados quantitativos e qualitativos, a metodologia envolveu coleta em repositórios, uso do programa Excel, do software NVIVO, e estruturação de categorias criadas a partir da perspectiva da Sociologia da Infância.
