SCIENTIFIC EDUCATION THROUGH RESEARCH INITIATION IN LANGUAGE TEACHER TRAINING

Resumo: | This article reports a qualitative study in the field of Applied Linguistics (AL). It discusses the importance of science education for an initial training of language teachers that is sustainable and constitutes a form of resistance to inequalities and exclusions validated by established power relations. It assumes a transgressive perspective of scientific education, electing the language sciences as a legitimate field of scientific practices and seeking to break with the hierarchical relationship between teaching and research. A documental analysis supported by the Actor-Network Theory was its methodological support, focusing on scientific initiation reports produced by academics from the Bachelor of Languages at the Universidade Federal do Tocantins (UFT), in the context of the Institutional Program for Scientific Initiation (PIBIC). The objective was to examine the scientific training of the program's research fellows, with possible consequences for their professional performance. The analyzes signaled the possibility of training students-teachers-researchers to be more reflective, critical and producers of knowledge and expertise; in addition, that they can move between the pedagogical and scientific spaces, meeting socio-scientific demands. The study's theoretical support was investigations on language and teacher training based on AL and authors from scientific education and social sciences. |

Se discute la importancia de la educación científica para la formación inicial de profesores de lenguas, buscando una formación sostenible que constituya una forma de resistencia a las desigualdades y exclusiones respaldadas por las relaciones de poder establecidas. Para ello, adopta una perspectiva transgresora de la educación científica, eligiendo las ciencias del lenguaje como un campo legítimo de prácticas científicas y tratando de romper con la relación jerárquica entre enseñanza e investigación. La metodología se basó en el análisis documental respaldado por la Teoría Actor-Red, con énfasis en los informes de iniciación científica producidos por académicos de la carrera de Letras de la Universidad Federal de Tocantins (UFT), en el contexto del Programa Institucional de Iniciación Científica (PIBIC). El objetivo fue examinar la formación científica de los investigadores del programa, con posibles implicaciones para su desempeño profesional. Los análisis indicaron la posibilidad de formar estudiantes-docentes-investigadores más reflexivos, críticos y productores de conocimientos y saberes; además, pueden transitar entre espacios pedagógicos y científicos para abordar demandas sociocientíficas. Además del aporte teórico que investiga el lenguaje y la formación docente desde LA, dialoga con autores de la educación científica y las ciencias sociales.Este artigo relata um estudo de natureza qualitativa, realizado no campo da Linguística Aplicada (LA). Discute a importância da educação científica para uma formação inicial de professores de línguas que seja sustentável e que se constitua como forma de resistência a desigualdades e exclusões validadas por relações de poder estabelecidas. Para tanto, assume perspectiva transgressiva de educação científica, elegendo as ciências da linguagem como campo legítimo de práticas científicas e buscando romper com a relação hierarquizada entre ensino e pesquisa. Teve como aporte metodológico a análise documental respaldada na Teoria Ator-Rede, focalizando relatórios de iniciação científica produzidos por acadêmicos das licenciaturas em Letras da Universidade Federal do Tocantins (UFT), no contexto do Programa Institucional de Iniciação Científica (PIBIC). O objetivo foi examinar a formação científica dos bolsistas pesquisadores do programa, com possíveis desdobramentos para sua atuação profissional. As análises sinalizaram a possibilidade de se formarem estudantes-professores-pesquisadores mais reflexivos, críticos e produtores de conhecimentos e saberes; ademais, que possam transitar entre os espaços pedagógico e científico atendendo a demandas sociocientíficas.
