Resumo: This article aims to build arguments in favour of a large scale evaluation of the context of Early Childhood Education, defending the development of tools that take into consideration three important aspects of the aforementioned stage of Basic Education. That is, the access to knowledge, inequality and interactions, under the perspective of guaranteeing the children’s right to quality education. For this, there are three parts in the article: (1) a brief history of Early Childhood Education in Brazil, with emphasis on the access to knowledge and learning; (2) a discussion about guaranteeing the right to quality education in a society that is as rife with inequality and structural racism; (3) an argument about the need to consider two aspects - knowledge and inequality - in the evaluation of Early Childhood Education, extracting important lessons and experiences from the set of large scale evaluation processes of the other levels of Basic Education. It is considered thus that the necessity of debates and research in the field of Early Childhood Education evaluation that take into account those aspects and aiming at producing national information on everyday pedagogical practice that can reinforce or fight against inequality in education, as an important point.

Con este fin, desarrolla tres partes: la primera presenta una breve historia de la EI en Brasil, con énfasis en el acceso a conocimientos; la segunda discute la garantía del derecho a una educación de calidad en una sociedad tan desigual y estructuralmente marcada por el racismo; y la tercera argumenta sobre la necesidad de tener en cuenta estos dos aspectos – conocimientos y desigualdades – en la evaluación de la EI, indicando aprendizajes a partir de las evaluaciones a gran escala de las otras etapas de la Educación Básica. Si señala la necesidad de debates y estudios en el área de la evaluación de la EI que consideren tales dimensiones y la intención de producir informaciones nacionales sobre la práctica pedagógica en el cotidiano de la EI que refuerza o lucha contra las desigualdades en la educación.   O artigo, com vistas a construir argumentos para uma avaliação em larga escala dos contextos da Educação Infantil (EI), defende o desenvolvimento de instrumentos que levem em consideração três importantes aspectos da referida etapa da Educação Básica, a saber: o acesso a conhecimentos, as desigualdades e as interações, sob a perspectiva da garantia dos direitos das crianças a uma educação de qualidade. Para isso, desenvolve três partes que: (1) apresenta um breve histórico da EI no Brasil, com ênfase no acesso a conhecimentos; (2) discute a garantia do direito à educação de qualidade em uma sociedade tão desigual e estruturalmente marcada pelo racismo; (3) e argumenta sobre a necessidade de levar em consideração estes dois aspectos – conhecimentos e desigualdades, na avaliação da EI, indicando aprendizagens a partir das avaliações em larga escala das outras etapas da Educação Básica.
