Resumo: Objective: To identify the reaction time of the multidisciplinary team to the presence of noise in the neonatal therapy unit. Methodology: Cross-sectional study. Records of sound pressure levels were collected using a decibilimeter. Results: 449 records were collected for analysis in the present study, 323 of which were made in the neonatal intensive care unit and 126 in the Conventional Intermediate Care Unit. It was found that the median of the reaction time of the professionals was high. The professional who acted more quickly in noise at the NICU was the Nurse; and at UCINCO, the medical professional acted more quickly. It was also noted that there was no significant correlation between high levels of sound pressure and the reaction time of the professionals to noise. Conclusion: the reaction time of health professionals, in view of the noise in this neonatal unit, was far beyond what was stipulated for this study.
