Resumo: The purpose of this article is to discuss the training projects in dispute in the particularity of Brazilian Social Work at the present time and their implications for the construction of relative autonomy under the terms of the political ethical project throughout graduation, in order to foster professional actions equipped with intellectuality and criticism. Methodologically, an exploratory and bibliographic study was chosen. The results point to the growth of a conservative movement based on technical and anti-intellectualist academic-professional training that, in addition to reaching the professional training project outlined by ABEPSS (1996), has changed the profile of bachelors in Social Work , tending to reduce the relative autonomy in the exercise of the profession to an allowed, encouraged and extended autonomy, provided that it is under the control of employers.
