Resumo: | One of the objectives of Science Education is to train scientifically literate citizens, which demands an understanding of the nature of science. Thus, the aim of this article is to analyze whether and how the nature of science is addressed in the National Common Curriculum Base (BNCC). This is a qualitative documentary research, in which the BNCC was the analyzed document. The results indicate that the document presents science as a social construction and highlights the importance of including the history of science in classes. However, the myth of the superiority of technocratic decisions is indirectly reinforced. Furthermore, what is present in the BNCC as a prescribed curriculum may not actually be achieved as a curriculum in action. This occurs as a consequence of the decrease in classes for the area of Natural Sciences and the non-obligation of students to attend the itineraries in this area. |
