Teaching Practice from the implementation of activities contextualized on water treatment in Chemistry and Environmental Education Teaching

Resumo: The work with environmental issues in educational approaches may receive great support from contextualized practical activities, because it proposes a more consistent relationship between the content under study and the student in the pursuit of promoting reflections and actions that contribute for the formation of future citizens. The theme "Water" was developed in this work through an interdisciplinary context, based on the concepts of chemistry involved in water treatment. The goal was to promote learning for water treatment in the context of Chemistry and Environmental Education Teaching from the application of a didactic kit simulator, with testing jars built with recovered materials for use in educational spaces. A pedagogical activity composed of several teaching modalities was developed to different groups of students in the 9th year of elementary school and in the 1st year of high school, where an interactive lecture was held, with simultaneous operation of the kit, and the use of questionnaires before and after the activities. Connecting concepts and scientific-pedagogical actions with a dynamic approach enabled a broader view that learning about water treatment can be enhanced with motivating and contextualized learning activities.

Connecting concepts and scientific-pedagogical actions with a dynamic approach enabled a broader view that learning about water treatment can be enhanced with motivating and contextualized learning activities.Resumo  O trabalho com temáticas ambientais nas abordagens educativas pode receber grande apoio de atividades práticas contextualizadas, pois propõe uma relação mais consistente entre o conteúdo a ser estudado e o cotidiano do aluno na busca da promoção de reflexões e ações que favoreçam a formação dos futuros cidadãos. Neste trabalho optou-se por desenvolver o tema “Água” por meio de uma contextualização interdisciplinar, fundamentada nos conceitos de Química envolvidos no tratamento de água. O objetivo foi promover o aprendizado referente ao tratamento de água no contexto do Ensino de Química e de Educação Ambiental, a partir da aplicação de um kit didático simulador do teste de jarros, construído com materiais reutilizados, para demonstração em espaços educativos. Foi desenvolvida uma atividade pedagógica composta por diversas modalidades didáticas a grupos distintos de alunos do 9º ano do Ensino Fundamental II e 1º ano do Ensino Médio, onde foi promovida uma palestra interativa, com funcionamento concomitante do kit, além da aplicação de questionários prévios e posteriores.
