Resumo: This research was developed in the context of two disciplines of teaching practices of the Course of Degree in biological Sciences of the Universidade Federal de Sergipe, aimed at training teachers with experience in research and extension. We aimed to identify some influences of approximation and detachment presented by High School students from the last year concerning the scientific knowing about the origin of life. A questionnaire was developed and applied to 98 students of Itabaiana e Frei Paulo – SE. It contained multiple choice questions about the census profile of respondents, and a question based on a scale of Thurstone, which presents an ordered set of statements in speeches closer or further from a particular object reference that in the present study was the academic discourse  on  the subject in question.

Buscou-se identificar algumas influências escolares e sociais para a aproximação e o distanciamento de estudantes do último ano do ensino médio frente ao conhecimento científico sobre origem da vida. Um questionário foi elaborado e aplicado a 98 estudantes de Itabaiana e Frei Paulo – SE.
