Teachers education in university: the participation of Biological Sciences ungraduated students in research groups

Resumo: In this paper we discuss the teacher’s education in university since the participation of students of biological sciences in groups of research. The data were constituted from the responses of group leaders to a questionnaire and from the testimonials of undergraduates in semi-structured interviews. The analytical treatment followed the precepts of the discursive textual analysis. We note the limitations of the groups in fostering the interest in teaching in basic education. On the other hand, the contributions pointed out by the participants range from the learning of conceptual contents and research techniques to an ethical commitment to social-environmental issues. The results revealed some problems about the course for which undergraduates seek to overcome through participation in different groups, such as the precarious integration between the specific knowledge of the biological sciences and their teaching.

Os dados foram constituídos pelas respostas de líderes de grupos a um questionário e de depoimentos de graduandos em entrevistas semiestruturadas. O tratamento analítico seguiu os preceitos da análise textual discursiva. Notamos as limitações dos grupos no fomento ao interesse pela docência na educação básica, por outro lado, as contribuições apontadas pelos participantes vão desde a aprendizagem de conteúdos conceituais e técnicas de pesquisa a um compromisso ético com questões sociais-ambientais.
