Didactic-pedagogic aspects of STS Education in High School: an analysis of teaching practice curricular component Applied Sciences

Resumo: | STS Education aims at a curricular reorganization, a new epistemological and pedagogical posture of the teachers. In view of this, the SESI-Paraná High School presents the Applied Sciences component with convergences to the STS assumptions. Thus, the objective of this research is to analyze the didactic-pedagogical aspects of STS Education that guide the teaching practice in the context of the Applied Sciences curricular component of the SESI-PR network. Through a qualitative research and case study, using documentary research, interviews and class observations as techniques, it was identified that the Applied Sciences component constitutes a STS Education program in Basic Education, as it brings together didactic- pedagogical approaches converging to the STS assumptions, such as: curriculum oriented by STS/socio-scientific themes, teaching methodologies focused on the student, varied resources and strategies, evaluation of formative bias and problematizing teaching practice. The analysis also identified elements that need to be rethought in order to advance in the STS Approach interventions, such as: resuming the topic for decision making, choosing topics together by professors and students, discussing the mechanisms of participation in ST matters, experimentation related to social issues and student self-assessment. |

En vista de eso, la Escuela Secundaria SESI-Paraná presenta el componente de Ciencias Aplicadas con convergencias a los supuestos de la CTS. Así, el objetivo de esta investigación es analizar los aspectos didáctico-pedagógicos de la Educación CTS que orientan la práctica docente en el contexto del componente curricular de Ciencias Aplicadas de la red SESI-PR. A través de una investigación cualitativa y estudio de caso, utilizando como técnicas la investigación documental, la entrevista y la observación de clases, se identificó que el componente de Ciencias Aplicadas constituye un programa de Educación CTS en la Educación Básica, ya que reúne enfoques didáctico-pedagógicos convergentes a los presupuestos CTS, tales como: currículo orientado por CTS/temáticas sociocientíficas, metodologías de enseñanza centradas en el estudiante, recursos y estrategias variadas, evaluación del sesgo formativo y problematización de la práctica docente. El análisis también identificó elementos que necesitan ser repensados para avanzar en las intervenciones del Enfoque STS, tales como: retomar el tema para la toma de decisiones, elegir temas en conjunto por profesores y estudiantes, discutir los mecanismos de participación en asuntos de CT, experimentación relacionada con problemas sociales y la autoevaluación de los estudiantes.A Educação CTS almeja uma reorganização curricular, uma nova postura epistemológica e pedagógica dos docentes. Em vista disso, o Colégio SESI-Paraná, de Ensino Médio, apresenta o componente Ciências Aplicadas com convergências aos pressupostos CTS. Assim, o objetivo desta pesquisa é analisar os aspectos didáticos-pedagógicos da Educação CTS que balizam a prática docente no contexto do componente curricular Ciências Aplicadas da rede SESI-PR. Por meio de uma pesquisa qualitativa e de estudo de caso, utilizando como técnicas a pesquisa documental, entrevistas e observações das aulas, identificou-se que o componente Ciências Aplicadas se constitui como um programa de Educação CTS na Educação Básica, pois congrega aspectos didáticos-pedagógicos convergentes aos pressupostos CTS, como: currículo orientado por temas CTS/sociocientíficos, metodologias de ensino focadas no estudante, recursos e estratégias variados, avaliação de viés formativo e prática docente problematizadora.
