Diversity in a didactic intervention in the training of Science and Mathematics professors

Resumo: The article presents the results of a research Project that is aimed at discussing issues that include diversity and gender identity, race and sexual orientation in the continuing education of teachers. The study included didactic interventions in the curricular component of History and Philosophy of Science in the Graduate Program in Teaching Science and Mathematics at the Federal University of Pelotas, Brazil, with records and content analysis of the interventions. The results allowed the subjects participating in the research to realize that there is not only a problem regarding the lack of these discussions in their training at the university and at school, but also to observe that different people can face different types of oppression and that these limitations contribute to the lack of representativeness in academia and the permanence of the scientist stereotype.

El estudio incluyó intervenciones didácticas en el componente curricular de Historia y Filosofía de las Ciencias, en el Programa de Posgrado en Enseñanza de Ciencias y Matemáticas de la Universidad Federal de Pelotas, Brasil, con registros y análisis de contenido de las intervenciones. Los resultados permitieron a los participantes de la investigación percatarse de que no sólo existe un problema en cuanto a la falta de estas discusiones en su formación, en la universidad y en la escuela, sino también observar que diferentes personas pueden enfrentar diferentes tipos de opresión y que estas limitaciones contribuyen a la falta de representatividad en la academia y la permanencia del estereotipo científico.O artigo apresenta os resultados de uma pesquisa que teve por objetivo discutir questões que englobam a diversidade e a identidade de gênero, a raça e a orientação sexual na formação continuada de professores. O estudo contemplou intervenções didáticas no componente curricular de História e Filosofia da Ciência, no Programa de Pós-Graduação em Ensino de Ciências e Matemática da Universidade Federal de Pelotas, com registros e análise de conteúdo das intervenções.
