Resumo: The present work presents the results of an experimental investigative activity carried out in a Science Club of a Federal University of Northern Brazil. The objective was to verify procedural and communicational attitudes of 5th and 6th grade children in an Investigative Teaching Sequence (ITS) through writing and drawing. During the activity with a qualitative approach, it was possible to verify that non-formal learning spaces can be an ally for the consolidation of contextualized and interdisciplinary science teaching, in the performance of investigative experimental activities. The analyzed data allowed to affirm that the investigative experimentation promotes the procedural and communicational process of teaching and learning. Writing and drawing proved to be significant for children; all participated actively during ITS, answering the proposed problem, expressing their understanding through creative writing and drawing, communicating and socializing results.
