Resumo: The article introduces the thematic dossier organized to reveal up-to-date studies on the issue of theatrical spaces, cities, and the different artistic experiences that take place in public and semi-public urban spaces of small and large locations. The themes extend from Maranhão to Rio Grande do Sul but also include the cities of Lisbon and Barcelona, demonstrating the multiple possibilities of the space for the performing arts.

Los temas se extienden desde Maranhão hasta Rio Grande do Sul, pero también incluyen las ciudades de Lisboa y Barcelona, demostrando las múltiples posibilidades del espacio para las artes escénicas.Introduz-se neste artigo o dossiê temático organizado para revelar estudos atualizados sobre a questão dos espaços teatrais, das cidades, das diferentes experiências artísticas que ocorrem nos espaços urbanos públicos e semipúblicos de pequenas e grandes localidades.
