Self-portrait: A/r/tographic narratives and creation processes in shared stories

Resumo: This article seeks to understand the family legacy, real and imagery, in my artistic investigation process called "Self-portrait" an installation presented at the collective exhibition “Tramações”, in 2018, at the Capibaribe Gallery of the Arts and Communication Center of the Federal University of Pernambuco. I use my family history through objects captured and created in memories such as letters, written and transcribed memories that make up my imagination. In this scenario of memories, I also recreate and forge stories that are joining my story based on bonds between me and my family, especially the women who preceded me. Through the A/r/tographic narrative that allows me to address the congruence between my experiences as an artist, teacher and researcher, I ask the following question: how the rescue of female narratives, within the family, contributed to the process of creating the “Self-portrait”and what questions reverberated? Based on this, I take as a theoretical basis for this investigation the Studies of Gender and Sexualities, Collective Memory and the concept of Archivist Artist.

Rescato mi historia familiar a través de objetos capturados y creados en recuerdos como cartas, recuerdos escritos y transcritos que componen mi imaginación. En este escenario de recuerdos, también recreo y forjo historias que se van uniendo a mi historia a partir de los lazos entre mi familia y yo, especialmente las mujeres que me precedieron. A través de la narrativa A/r/tográfica que me permite abordar la congruencia entre mis experiencias como artista, docente e investigadora, me planteo la siguiente pregunta: cómo el rescate de las narrativas femeninas, dentro de la familia, contribuyó al proceso de creación de la “Autorretrato” y ¿qué preguntas reverberaron? En base a esto, tomo como base teórica para esta investigación los Estudios de Género y Sexualidades, la Memoria Colectiva y el concepto de Artista Archivero.Este artigo busca compreender o legado familiar – narrativo e imagético – no meu processo de investigação artística chamado Autorretrato – instalação apresentada na exposição coletiva “Tramações”, em 2018, na Galeria Capibaribe do Centro de Artes e Comunicação da Universidade Federal de Pernambuco. Faço uma ressignificação de minha história familiar por meio de objetos capturados e criados em lembranças, tais como cartas, memórias escritas e transcritas que compõem o meu imaginário. Neste cenário de recordações também recriei e forjei estórias que foram se unindo à minha história a partir de laços entre mim e meus familiares, especialmente as mulheres que me antepassaram. Por meio da narrativa A/r/tográfica que me permitiu abordar a congruência entre minhas vivências enquanto artista, professora e pesquisadora, fiz a seguinte pergunta: como a ressignificação de narrativas do feminino, no âmbito familiar, contribuíram para o processo de criação da obra Autorretrato e quais questionamentos reverberaram?
