Resumo: The theoretical review presented in this article is an excerpt from the Master's thesis and aims to conduct a brief analysis of the relevance of Critical Racial Literacy to promote discussions about children's racial identities through the use of Children's Literature books. The motivating question of the study was: What research has shown reflections about the use of Children's Literature in the classroom for teaching about issues of racial identities with the possible perspective of critical racial literacy? For these reflections, authors such as Ferreira (2015), Jovino (2006, 2015), Souza, Dias and Santiago (2017), Araújo (2017), Rosa (2014), among others, were considered. For the analysis proposed here, some research is presented that deals with the relevance of using the children's literature book in the classroom to enable discussions about racial issues, based on Critical Racial Literacy. From this reflection, it is understood that Children's Literature can be one of the possibilities to discuss race and empower children about their racial identities.
