Youth protagonism in the democratic management of the school: reflections and possibilities

Resumo: This article deals with Youth Protagonism in the processes of Democratic School Management. It aims to reflect on the meetings and mismatches of the relations between School Management and Youth Protagonism. To support this study we used: Maria de Lourdes Melo Prais (1996), Antonio Carlos Gomes da Costa (2006), Paulo Freire (1999). The methodology used is bibliographic research. The study is justified by the need to rethink youth as historical subjects, recognizing their protagonism and critical capacity to build a democratic school. In view of the analysis, it is concluded that youth are multiple and carry on themselves causes and effects that need to be constantly considered; their experiences may be able to make the school a transforming environment. It is also realized that the School Management needs to decentralize itself to better meet the current demands of the school and youth, whose process of reinventing the School Management goes through a deep reflection regarding its practices.

Tem como objetivo analisar os encontros e desencontros das relações da Gestão Escolar com o Protagonismo Juvenil. Para fundamentar esse estudo utilizamos: Maria de Lourdes Melo Prais (1996), Antonio Carlos Gomes da Costa (2001), Paulo Freire (1999). A metodologia utilizada é a pesquisa bibliográfica. O trabalho justifica-se pela necessidade de repensar as juventudes como sujeitos históricos, reconhecendo seu protagonismo e capacidade crítica para construir uma escola democrática. Diante das análises, conclui-se que as juventudes são múltiplas e carregam sobre si causas e efeitos que precisam ser constantemente consideradas, suas vivencias podem ser capazes de fazer da escola um ambiente transformador.
