Resumo: Public funding is one of the most important issues related to education policies. This study has as main objective to apprehend the social representations of pedagogy students from public and private universities in the capital of Paraíba about education financing. The methodological approach is a mixed one and the sample was non-probabilistic and of convenience, formed by 180 university students, the majority of whom were public universities (58.9%) who claim to have an average knowledge about education funding. The results found demonstrated that the students' knowledge about Education Financing as Public Policy is related to fundeb, fies, program, government, resource. Reading the social representation of pedagogy students can expand the conditions for identifying the participation of these social actors in discussions of financing policies.

Este estudo tem como objetivo principal apreender as representações sociais dos alunos de pedagogia de universidade pública e privada da capital paraibana acerca do financiamento da educação. A abordagem metodológica é a mista e a amostra foi não-probabilística e de conveniência, formada por 180 universitários, sendo a maioria de universidade pública (58,9%) que afirmam ter um conhecimento mediano acerca do financiamento da educação. Os resultados encontrados demonstraram que o conhecimento dos estudantes sobre Financiamento da Educação como Política Pública está relacionado ao fundeb, fies, programa, governo, recurso.
