Education in Brazil in pandemic times (before-during-after): reflections from the decolonial perspective

Resumo: | The Covid-19 pandemic hit the world and caused rearrangements in several aspects of society. In the Brazilian context, education was one of the most affected areas, because, in addition to social isolation, other serious problems already existed. Allied to this, political and social factors during the year 2020 and 2021 aggravated the situation. Observing this, the present study, of an essayistic nature, problematizes how the precept of modernity causes the maintenance of coloniality, noting that, during the pandemic, such assumptions became even more evident, such as that of salvation and the deficit ideology. The essay is anchored in the decolonial perspective, with Quijano (1992) and Mignolo (2017); education is discussed in a dialogue between Patto (1999) and Freire (1979; 1984); and documentary journalistic sources for data about the pandemic. |

No contexto brasileiro, a educação foi uma das áreas mais afetadas, pois, além do isolamento social, eclodiram outros graves problemas já existentes. Aliado a isso, fatores políticos e sociais durante o ano de 2020 e 2021 agravaram a situação. Observado isso, o presente estudo, de cunho ensaístico, problematiza como o preceito de modernidade provoca a manutenção da colonialidade, atentando que, durante a pandemia, tais pressupostos ficaram ainda mais evidentes, como o da salvação e da ideologia do déficit.
