Resumo: The main objective of this article is to analyze the use of the concept of region in some elementary schools in Teresina – PI. In basic education, the concept of region addresses more regionalization of Brazil, regionalization of America and Europe, and it is exactly this point that instigated the research, because as such a comprehensive and key concept in geography, it is expected that it will have more space in the subjects exposed. in class. From this, we carried out bibliographical analyzes of authors who address the concept of region (Corrêa 2003; Haesbaert 2010; Santos 1978; Gomes 1995), in addition to authors who work in teaching (Guerra 2020; Fernandes 2023). For this reason, we interviewed geography teachers who work in primary education, and through interviews (carried out in person) we questioned whether this really happens and asked for their point of view on the situation.

No ensino básico, o conceito de região aborda mais regionalização do Brasil, regionalização da América e Europa, e é exatamente esse ponto que instigou a pesquisa, pois como um conceito tão abrangente e chave da geografia espera-se que tenha mais espaço nos assuntos exposto em aula.  A partir disso realizamos análises bibliográficas de autores que abordam o conceito de região (Corrêa 2003; Haesbaert 2010; Santos 1978; Gomes 1995), além de autores que trabalham com ensino de Geografia (Guerra 2020; Fernandes 2023).
