Resumo: | The present work aims to present the importance of using mental maps as a methodological tool, in the teaching-learning process, contributing to the resolution of challenges faced during remote teaching and to the understanding of geographic concepts, in the context of the pandemic. . For that, it takes into account the experience used in the development of activities in the discipline of Geography, applied through the Institutional Program of Scholarships for Teaching Initiation-PIBID, linked to the State University of Piauí-UESPI, in a public school from the city of Teresina/PI, from 2021 to 2022. Reaching satisfactory results, which point to a significant contribution to the teaching-learning of students in educational institutions. |

Para tanto, leva-se em consideração a experiência utilizada no desenvolvimento de atividades na disciplina de Geografia, aplicadas por meio do Programa Institucional de Bolsas de Iniciação à Docência-PIBID, vinculado a Universidade Estadual do Piauí-UESPI, em uma escola da rede pública da cidade de Teresina/PI, no período de 2021 a 2022.
