Celebrations of the centenary of the 1827 Law in Image

Resumo: The present work analyzed the photo album commemorating the centennial of the public instruction law of October 15, 1827, designed by Nestor Lima during the administration of the then governor José Augusto in Rio Grande do Norte. The analysis was made from the question: what historical revelations are contained in the photographic records of the album intended for the celebration of the centennial of the law of the schools of first letters, in Rio Grande do Norte? We based ourselves theoretically on concepts such as history, memory and photography. Through the iconographic analysis of the album we found that it contains celebrations of the centennial in the state capital and in some cities in the interior, highlighting important authorities of the time. It was also possible to observe productions made by students, and highlight the construction of the school buildings.

A análise foi feita a partir do questionamento: que revelações históricas estão contidas nos registros fotográficos do álbum destinado à celebração do centenário da lei das escolas de primeiras letras, no Rio Grande do Norte? Nos fundamentamos teoricamente em conceitos como história, memória e fotografia. Pela análise iconográfica do álbum constatamos que este contém celebrações do centenário na capital do estado e em algumas cidades do interior, destacando autoridades importantes da época.
