Design Thinking, problem dimension: an analysis of methodologies and active tools to support the teaching of classical thermodynamics

Resumo: The knowledge associated with thermodynamics is present in the most diverse branches of science and engineering. However, there is a high difficulty in the teaching-learning process of this theme. In this context, an interdisciplinary team was formed to investigate problems related to the teaching-learning process of thermodynamics, through the methodological approach of Design Thinking (immersion phase). The article deals with the procedures performed and related to the dimension of the problem. It was concluded that there are more internal factors that hinder the teaching-learning process and as for external factors, it is clear that games are active tools that work, motivate and bring engagement to learning.

Sin embargo, existe una alta dificultad en el proceso de enseñanza-aprendizaje de esta temática. En este contexto, se conformó un equipo interdisciplinario para investigar problemas relacionados con el proceso de enseñanza-aprendizaje de la termodinámica, a través del enfoque metodológico del Design Thinking (fase de inmersión). El artículo trata sobre los procedimientos realizados y relacionados con la dimensión del problema. Se concluyó que existen más factores internos que dificultan el proceso de enseñanza-aprendizaje y en cuanto a los factores externos, es claro que los juegos son herramientas activas que trabajan, motivan y traen compromiso con el aprendizaje.Os conhecimentos associados à termodinâmica estão presentes nos mais diversos ramos das ciências e da engenharia. Porém, observa-se elevada dificuldade no processo de ensino-aprendizagem deste tema. Nesse contexto, uma equipe interdisciplinar foi formada para investigar os problemas relativos ao processo de ensino-aprendizagem da termodinâmica, através da abordagem metodológica do Design Thinking (fase de imersão). O artigo trata sobre os procedimentos executados e relativos à dimensão do problema. Concluiu-se que existem mais fatores internos que atrapalham o processo de ensino-aprendizagem e quanto aos fatores externos percebe-se que os jogos são ferramentas ativas que funcionam, motivam e trazem engajamento para o aprendizado.
