Resumo: Objective: Verify the use of Action Research, Design Science Research (DSR) and Action Design Research (ADR) methods within the scope of Information Science (CI), considering for the analysis dissertations, theses and articles published in the period from 2018 to 2021. Methodology: Systematic Literature Review (SLR). Results: The main findings include: (i) absence of research using the Action Design Research method in the IS; (ii) the existence of studies that signal the use of methods, without, however, executing them rigorously; (iii) the growth of the use of Design Science Research in research in the area from 2019 and (iv) the variety of solutions that may arise with the use of these methods. Conclusions: Effective use of Action Research and DSR methods is promising in IS for enabling the development of research not only with strong theoretical background, but also the application of results in real problem solving. The Action Design Research (ADR) method lacks application in the área; only one study pointed out the use of the method, however, without meeting the necessary collaboration between researchers and participants in all stages of the research. Incidentally, this was a problem detected in the SLR, most of the studies rejected in the final stage of the SLR were due to the low quality of execution of the proposed method, which indicates the need for studies that better elucidate the specifications of the methods.
