Contribuições do Programa de Iniciação Científica Júnior na Universidade Estadual de Londrina (UEL) : a formação de um habitus adequado ao campo científico

This study focused on public policies on the Junior Scientific Initiation (ICJ) in Paraná, and especially at the State University of Londrina (UEL). In recent years, research funding agencies, foundations that support research in the states of the federation (FAPS), and the National Council for Scientific and Technological Development - CNPq have published proposals to implement the ICJ in the pockets of research institutions interested in this form of agreement. In order to evaluate public policies aimed at the ICJ, we conducted a study at UEL using the sociology of Pierre Bourdieu, specifically his notion of the scientific field. In this study, we interviewed high school students who participated in this program to verify the contribution to the formation of a scientific habitus. Interviewed also teachers presenting their representations of the program. After presenting the results of this search and readback of information gathered along with the other sources investigated in this study, we found that the ICJ favors the formation of a qualified demand the scientific field. Furthermore, we propose that this program is targeted at students in unfavorable socioeconomic conditions, because a significant portion of students who participated in the program demonstrate a favorable profile to enroll in the scientific field, even without participation in this program.
