Mathematical modeling and technology in a critical perspective

Resumo:  This paper presents an intervention in the early years of elementary school with the use of Mathematical Modeling in the classroom, with the support of UCA laptop connected to the Internet, the development of activities. The aim of the study was to analyze the impact of the insertion of Mathematical Modeling in a critical perspective, the teaching and learning relationships in everyday life of the classroom. We used the methodology of action research. The subjects were 23 students and the teacher of a class of 5th grade of elementary school to a public school Program participant One Computer per Student - UCA. The procedures of data collection were: the questionnaires; observations; and interviews. Data analysis was anchored in the dialogue between the content of the information collected in the survey and the theoretical framework of the study. The research indicated that the application of modeling, from a critical perspective, in Mathematics classes mobilized the teacher to develop an educational action that considers the classroom as a setting for research, and mobilized students to pursue an active participation in the process of appropriation of mathematical content.And even suggested that the use of the methodology provided the use in the UCA laptop critical perspective that streamlined the actions developed and contributed to the appropriation of mathematical content.

O objetivo do estudo foi analisar os impactos da inserção da Modelagem Matemática, em uma perspectiva de Educação Matemática Crítica, nas relações de ensino e aprendizagem no dia a dia da sala de aula. Utilizou-se a metodologia da pesquisa-ação. Os sujeitos da pesquisa foram 23 estudantes e a professora de uma turma do 5º ano do Ensino Fundamental de uma escola pública participante do Programa Um Computador por Aluno - UCA. Os procedimentos da coleta de dados foram: a aplicação de questionários; observações; e realização de entrevistas. A análise dos dados foi ancorada no diálogo entre o conteúdo das informações coletadas na pesquisa e os referenciais teóricos do estudo. A pesquisa sinalizou que a aplicação da Modelagem, em uma perspectiva crítica, nas aulas de Matemática mobilizou a professora a desenvolver uma ação pedagógica que considera a sala de aula como um cenário para investigações, e mobilizou os estudantes a exercerem uma participação ativa no processo de apropriação dos conteúdos matemáticos. E evidenciou ainda que a aplicação da metodologia propiciou o uso na perspectiva crítica do laptop UCA que dinamizou as ações desenvolvidas e contribuiu para a apropriação dos conteúdos matemáticos.
