Resumo: this article analyzes the access to musical education and interest in music learning among undergraduate students at the Federal University of São Carlos, Araras campus, based on 459 structured questionnaires. There is a presentation of the musical context in the municipality and a history about the creation of a music rehearsal studio on the campus. The research shows that social and gender inequalities are expressed in access to music education; most students, especially those who had less access to this specific training, express an interest in learning music during undergraduate education.

Existe la presentación del contexto musical en el municipio y una historia sobre la creación de un estudio de ensayo musical en el campus. La investigación muestra que las desigualdades sociales y de género se expresan en el acceso a la educación musical; la mayoría de los estudiantes, especialmente aquellos que tuvieron menos acceso a esta formación específica, expresan interés en aprender música durante la educación de pregrado.Este artigo analisa o acesso à formação musical e o interesse pelo aprendizado de música entre estudantes de graduação na Universidade Federal de São Carlos, campus de Araras, com base em 459 questionários estruturados. Há a apresentação do contexto musical no município e um histórico sobre a criação de um estúdio de ensaios musicais no campus.
