Resumo: | This paper aims to discuss teacher education and preparation to work with students who present Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). This study has a qualitative method with bibliographic and field techniques. The data collection occurred through a semi-structured questionnaire application to students from the language department (English and Spanish) of a public university in the countryside of Parana. In the analysis, the focus was on the participants’ knowledge about autism, as well as on the educational and inclusive process the autistic people requires throughout their schooling. The results show that the student teachers, in the initial educational process are receiving little information and instructions on the development of activities with autistic and/or with special educational needs students. Thus, the knowledge they demonstrate to have come from individual studies and particular interests. |
