STUDENTS MOTIVES TO LEARN SECOND DEGREE POLYNOMIAL EQUATIONS FROM THE DEVELOPMENT OF A RESEARCH PROJECT

Resumo: | This article is based on a research elaborated as final term paper, of a Mathematics Course – Graduation, which aims to identify and to analyze motives that show up as potentials to place the students in the activity of learning, from the development of a research project in the study of second degree polynomial equations, presented at Mathematics Fairs. The research consider a qualitative approach and the data production is carried out through semi-structured interviews with students of a class accompanied by their guide teacher. The results obtained through the units of analysis – Catapult, Digital Information and Communication Technologies and Mathematics Fair - show that the teacher must have a clear pedagogical intention, that the motives are particular to the students and differ from each other, promoting the insertion of students in different activities. |

The results obtained through the units of analysis – Catapult, Digital Information and Communication Technologies and Mathematics Fair - show that the teacher must have a clear pedagogical intention, that the motives are particular to the students and differ from each other, promoting the insertion of students in different activities.El presente artículo se constituye a partir de una encuesta elaborada como trabajo de conclusión de curso, de un Curso de Matemáticas – Licenciatura, que tiene como objetivo identificar y analizar las razones que muestran potencial para colocar a los estudiantes en la actividad de aprendizaje, a partir del desarrollo de un proyecto de encuesta en el estudio de la ecuación polinomial de segundo grado, presentado en Ferias de Matemáticas. La encuesta considera un enfoque cualitativo y la producción de datos se realiza a través de entrevistas semiestructuradas con los estudiantes de una clase y su profesor supervisor. Los resultados obtenidos de las unidades de análisis – Catapulta, Tecnologías digitales de información y comunicación y Feria de Matemáticas - muestran que el docente debe tener una clara intencionalidad pedagógica, que las razones son particulares de los estudiantes y difieren entre sí, promoviendo la inserción de los estudiantes en diferentes actividades.-O presente artigo constitui-se a partir de uma pesquisa elaborada como trabalho de conclusão de curso, de um Curso de Matemática – Licenciatura, que tem como objetivo identificar e analisar motivos que se mostram potenciais em colocar os estudantes em atividade de aprendizagem, a partir do desenvolvimento de um projeto de pesquisa no estudo de equação polinomial do segundo grau, apresentado em Feiras de Matemática. A pesquisa considera uma abordagem qualitativa e a produção de dados é realizada através de entrevistas semiestruturadas com estudantes de uma turma e sua professora orientadora.
